Light Railways of the First World War: History of Tactical Rail Communications on the British Fronts, 1914-18
Welcome to another Fund Raising Auction – Supporting the Moseley Railway Trust and the “TRACKS TO THE TRENCHES” (13-15th July 2018) FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY EVENT at Apedale.
The Moseley Railway Trust is a 100% volunteer run organisation.
YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE a good copy of a very rare book through our ebay for Charity auction.
The W. J. K. Davies book on the WDLR narrow gauge railways ‘Light Railways of the First World War’ is often considered as the seminal work (the definitive bible on the subject), produced in a limited quantity by David & Charles in 1966-7.
Dust jacket is in good condition – some minor marks to the cover & wear as you would expect for a book of this age. This is a book from a reference library, there is a little written text on the inner front page, a small library sticker on the spine, stamps on title page & a “Withdrawn” stamp on the last (blank) page. Overall this is a very good example – but not “MINT”. Please see photos.
Proceeds from this book sale will support the work of the Moseley Railway Trust, and in particular the development of the Trust’s collection of First World War narrow gauge railway vehicles. These can be seen in operation at the Tracks to the Trenches event, July 13-15, where copies of the newly announced North British book will also be on sale (if there are any left by then!).
Please help support us & watch out for further fundraising auctions via the MoseleyRailwayTrust ebay account
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
